MARLINS SHELLAC STRASBURG, SPOIL NATS SEASON OPENER
The Miami Marlins bats were warmed up and ready to go in the season opener. They hung ten runs on Nats starter Stephen Strasburg in the first four innings, then tacked on another run late on a JT Realmuto solo homer to spoil the Washington home opener 11-0. Edinson Volquez and two relievers combine for the four hit shutout.
ASTROS BATS RAIN BARRAGE OF HOMERS ON SEATTLE
Houston sent their fans home happy with an 11-2 season openening victory over the visiting Mariners. The Astro bats were alive, scoring 11 runs on 15 hits, including five home runs. Brian McCann launched two solo balsts. Josh Reddick, Yuli Gurriel and Carlos Correa also went big fly. Dallas Keuchel pitched into the 7th inning, allowing only one run on four hits for the win.
